Anyone who has lost all the teeth in a jaw, or is about to, wants one thing above all: to bite, speak and laugh with confidence again, without anything moving. With just four implants per jaw and a telescopic bridge from our master laboratory, this is possible in many cases.

The principle is similar to the well-known All-on-4® concept (a registered trademark of Nobel Biocare). The difference: our bridge sits on telescopes. It holds as firmly as a fixed bridge, yet can be taken out for cleaning.

Advantages of the telescopic bridge

Holds like your own teeth

The telescopes hold the bridge securely on the implants by friction. Chewing, speaking and laughing feel like a fixed bridge, with no adhesive and no palate plate.

Easy to clean

You take the bridge out for cleaning and can reach the implants and gums from all sides. This protects against inflammation around the implants.

Safe for the future

Should an implant ever cause problems, the bridge can usually be adapted or extended rather than remade from scratch.

From our master laboratory

Planning, implants and bridge are coordinated closely with our in-house master laboratory.

When are same-day provisional teeth possible?

Whether you can leave the practice on the day of surgery with provisional teeth on your new implants depends on how firmly the implants sit in the bone right after placement. We therefore do not promise it across the board, but decide during surgery for each implant individually.

According to current scientific evidence, immediate loading of implants in the edentulous upper and lower jaw is as reliable as conventional, load-free healing. The International Team for Implantology (ITI) stated this in its consensus conference. The prerequisite is that the conditions are right:

Firm primary stability

Each implant must sit firmly in the bone when it is inserted. Most studies required an insertion torque of at least 30 Ncm and a stability value (ISQ) of at least 60. We check this for every implant before loading it.

Splinted restoration

The provisional bridge connects all implants rigidly. This distributes chewing forces so the implants can heal undisturbed.

Sufficient bone

If bone has to be built up or the sinus floor lifted at the same time, the professional societies advise against immediate loading. The implants then first heal without load. More under bone augmentation.

General health

Heavy smoking, poorly controlled diabetes, night-time teeth grinding or certain medications increase the risk. We discuss this openly in the consultation.

If the conditions are not met, you wear a provisional denture during healing. So you are never without teeth.

Treatment steps

  1. 1

    Consultation and 3D diagnostics

We examine your jaw with our own 3D X-ray (CBCT) and discuss your wishes, the options and the costs.

  2. 2

    Digital planning

We plan the position of the four implants and the final bridge on the computer together with our dental technician. We capture your teeth and jaw with a 3D scanner instead of impression material.

  3. 3

    Implant placement

We place the implants under the microscope, minimally invasively and under local anaesthesia, and if you wish, relaxed under nitrous oxide instead of general anaesthesia. Teeth that cannot be saved are removed in the same appointment.

  4. 4

    Provisional teeth

If all implants are stable enough, you receive a provisional bridge on the implants. Otherwise you wear a transitional denture during healing.

  5. 5

    Healing

Over a few months the implants fuse firmly with the bone.

  6. 6

    Telescopic bridge

Our master laboratory makes the final bridge, which we fit and fine-tune with you for bite and appearance.

What does treatment on 4 implants cost?

The cost depends on whether one or both jaws are treated, whether teeth must be removed or bone built up first, and which materials are chosen for the bridge. After diagnostics you receive a transparent treatment and cost plan. Patients with statutory insurance receive a fixed subsidy from their health insurer for the prosthesis; the implants themselves are usually paid privately. Private and supplementary insurance cover part or all of the costs depending on the plan.
